Wireframes

After the completion of the user flow, the SmartSHOTS team began creating wireframes. If the user flow is the master set of blueprints for the app, the wireframes are the room-by-room details.

The wireframes show every move and function within the app in the approximate format in which it will appear. Minimal colors and fonts are used at this stage in order to maintain the focus on the user experience.

The process of creating and refining the wireframes allows the SmartSHOTS team to organize and think about how the features within the app should be situated and interacted with. Using the different personas created earlier in the project—these are the myriad number of backgrounds from which a new user could approach the app—the SmartSHOTS team has examined the functionality of the app from a variety of perspectives to ensure that the app is both practical and functional for users from any background.

The wireframes will aid the engineering team in building the prototype for the app. This will include a basic user interface with a functional back end to support it. This work is slated to be completed at the end of May 2023. Afterward, the team will engage in troubleshooting and testing before presenting it to 50 families across Tennessee for beta testing before launch.
